HELP FOR MISSISSIPPI POLICE OFFICERS

The Mississippi Fraternal Order of Police has set up a distribution center at 410 W. Oak St. in Laurel to benefit law enforcement officers whose families have been affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Assistant Chief Keith McCary of the Meridian Police Department is president of the Mississippi FOP. He said supplies from personal items to professional ones have been distributed to officers in Laurel, Long Beach, Gautier, Waveland, Pass Christian, Biloxi and Gulfport.

The FOP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization responsible for distributing funds on a needs assessment basis. All money collected will go directly to aid the thousands of officers personally affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Officers have worked many long hours in protecting the public, now it's time to help them.

You can send your donation to: National Fraternal Order of Police; 1410 Donelson Pike, Suite A-17; Nashville TN 37217. For more information, call Keith McCary at (601) 485-1845.
